If you have never been to a business networking event before then perhaps it is time to dip your toe into the water.
I write as someone who has gained clients from attending networking events so I know that it is helpful. The thing to remember is that you can’t really just turn up once and think you will land a massive new contract. I have found that it is best to attend a few different types of networking events to find out which are the best for your business. And then focus on consistently attending these events and making contributions. Your potential clients will then get used to seeing you around. You will be building your brand or you will be enhancing your brand. You will make new business friends. You will find suppliers and you will start to build relationships with your target audiences. I use “target” in a subtle way if you know what I mean – you don’t want to scare people off!
Depending on the format of the event you may also learn new things that you can apply to your own business. For example, at our next event – hint! hint! – we have Charles Derby Financial Consultants speaking about auto enrollment into a company’s pension scheme and Agility UK Ltd addressing the issues of health and safety at work.
So, if you strategically plan your networking reach it can become a major asset to growing your business.
Is it time to get your toes wet? Come and meet established businesses in the city and some new exciting innovative companies – you never know what will happen.
